For reasons stated in the First Volume of these Experimental Researches, I have been induced to gather the remaining Series together, and to add to them certain other papers devoted to Electrical and Magnetic Research. To the prefatory remarks containing these reasons, I would recall the recollection of those who may honour these Researches with any further attention. I have printed the papers in this Volume, as before, with little or no alteration, except that I have placed the fair and just date of each at the top of the pages.
